Excelsior Geyser

The Excelsior Geyser last blew many years ago left a huge crater over 200 feet wide.. Like most geysers, Excelsior is unpredictable in its eruption. Old Faithful is an exception. I would not want to be here when it blew, you would probably get scalded to death by superheated steam. Although it has not blown in a time it still has a flow of 500 gallons a minute into the Firehole River.
