Halfway There

June 21st - Summer Solstice
Today the tour is one half complete. Twenty first day of trip and 19th riding day, 19 more days of riding to go. We are about 65 miles east of the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Tomorrow we will ride into the magnificient Tetons and have our first rest day. Yippee!
Really need a rest day, the last 5 days have been brutal, battling stong 30 mph headwinds while grinding it out trying to slice through the Wyoming headwinds. Yesterday the temperature reached 104 degrees.
The second have of the trip will be much more spectacular. I have done most of the rest of the tour on 4 previous Timberline tours. After we pedal through Yellowstone, we will ride through southwest Montana along the Bitteroots to Misoula. I did this ride in 2001 and its beautiful. Then we will ride up through Glacier National Park which I did in 2000. Then we will cross the Canadian border and make our way to the Magificient Canadian where the tour will climax. This will be my sixth time in the Canadian Rockies. The best is yet to come.

Whooah, were half way there
