Monarch Pass
The top of Monarch pass. Started climbing up Monarch Pass at 10:30 and 9 miles later and 2700 feet higher was there by 12:30. Yes 2 hours to go only 9 miles. Then we descended 3000 feet in 10 miles, just hung onto the bike and flew down the mountain. Today was one of those days that you set the bicycle cyclocomputer to altitude instead of miles. The miles go by so slowly and are not a good measure of progress. Instead you watch the elevation on the altimeter. You know you have to get to 11,300 feet and that is all that matters, not how many miles you have to ride.
