Winding Road

Our rest day and lollygagging days in the Tetons and Yellowstone are over. We are now back into the high mileage days as we make our way around southwest Montana on winding roads eventually riding in the Bitterroots along the Montana and Idaho border. Eventually by Saturday we will end up in Missoula where the second segment of Timberline's Chasing the Great Divide Tour ends. The third segment start Sunday and runs from Missoula to Jasper.
For pure cycling, there may be no better place to ride than southwest Montana. The roads are good, there are almost no cars or trucks, and the scenary is surprisingly beautiful. I did the route we are following back in 2001, and I remember as some of the best cycling on all of my Timberline trips. I also know of a hill three days from now that you can easily hit 50+ mph.
Attached is a photo of some beautiful horses I saw near the beginning of todays ride.

Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer to feeling fine

He's got a daughter he calls Easter
She was born on a Tuesday night
I'm just wondering why I feel so all alone
Why I'm a stranger in my own life
Jump in, let's go
Lay back, enjoy the show
Everybody gets high, everybody gets low
These are the days when anything goes

Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer

Everyday is a winding road
I get a little bit closer
Everyday is a faded sign
I get a little bit closer to feeling fine
