The Home Stretch
The 10th segment of the tour starts tomorrow, from Waterton to Radium Hot Springs. There are only two nearly impossible days left. In two days we have a 114 mile day where there is a notation about windmill farms on the cue sheet. I have seen these gigantic windmills in 2004 when I drove down to Waterton. That is no accident that those windmills are there, they are used to generate electricity. That should be an interesting day. Then the day from Radium Hot Springs to Lake Louise, a 90 mile day with two major 3000 ft climbs as well as an uphill finish, 2 mile climb to Lake Louise. I have done that ride before in the reverse direction, its going to be much harder going this way. After that, the ride down the Icefields Parkway will be like a 4 day victory lap. I am likely to lose the cell connection until Lake Louise. I was astonished it worked here.
