Oh Canada

-from July 3rd
Kind of a major transistion point tomorrow, as we leave the United States and ride into Canada and Waterton National Park. Waterton is an unusual national park in that it is located in two different countries. I think its called an international peace park and represents the friendship and bond between Canada and the US. Had to get out Canadian money and my passport this evening. Didn't have to change the credit card though, some slogan I barely remember about Visa being accepted worldwide. Oh I just remembered, Visa and Mastercard mostly all slipped in a 3 percent foreign currency translation cost in their fine print. But MacDill Federal Credit Union only charges one percent, have to switch credit cards too. Canadian money is very cool. Its all different colors and has pictures of wildlife and hockey players etc. Our money is all green and has dead white guys on it. They also have dollar and two dollar coins, called loonies and toonies and are commonly used, I think they are great.
I even brought some loonies and toonies with me from my trip to Canada last summer, but I cannot remember where I stashed them in the suitcase over 30 days ago.
I always thought we should change over all our money to different colors and make green money worthless in two years. That would flush out all the money from the underground economy that is not taxed, estimated to be about 30 percent of the overall economy. But that would cause chaos and there are not enough prisons to hold all the people who we be convicted of tax evasion.
