A Ship is Safe in the Harbor

I feel like I am so far away from home and have been gone for so long. All day long on a bicycle and each night in a new town and motel. I am actually getting very good and enjoying living out of a suitcase, wondering why we all need so much stuff in our homes. I am actually enjoying staying in a new room each night. I suppose I am settling into a new comfortable routine.
In a few days I will be leaving the country and entering Canada by bicycle. I will have my passport with me that day to make the border crossing into Canada.
I remember flying into the Dallas airport on June first. I had to almost run to make my connection between the C and D terminals becuase my flight left 2 hours late out of Tampa. I remember thinking that usually when I fly to Dallas that I then take a flight to Calgary. Then I thought, you are really going to have to earn your way to Canada this time. I have almost earned it.

A ship is safe in the harbor, but that is not what ships are made for.
